Check out this traveling group in the Rexford Aqueduct.

Counting and estimating, I come up with possibly a dozen or so occupants of this boat, of whom only two are men. Most of the women are wearing hats, and not two of the hats are the same. Looking at this group, I imagine that Pierre-Auguste Renoir would have captured this scene with color.

Walter McMullin is a larger craft, a steamer. And posing for this photo, we see more children aboard.

Most here also wear some sort of traveling hat.
