Many thanks to Dispatches correspondent Ray Kuntz for taking these photos in Spencerport yesterday as Cycle the Erie riders stopped for water, lunch, and a rest.

Bravo to the support team.

If yesterday was Spencerport, that means that today is the 52-mile stage between Fairport and Seneca Falls, if I’m reading the schedule right.

Is anyone in the towns documenting the tour, like this?

Is anyone interviewing riders and town volunteers and getting photos of unusual gear or garb, as well as photos juxtaposing iconic canal structure with the packs of riders?

We’d love to cross-post on this blog as well.

I cycled the Erie solo in October 2020. Click here for my account and photos of the trip. Finding lodging on my own each day added a layer of uncertainty. I chose to stay in motels because I wanted a hot shower and a good bed each night. It was a memorable experience I’d recommend. If I were to do it again, I’d certainly go as a part of a group.

Kudos to Ray for sending the photos and some basic information along.
