W Dan Hulchanski, who previously shared photos here, sent some of these photo along from Schenectady. Michael Bopp, author at Dispatches, filled in some of the info: “The backdrop is the Center dock at Mohawk Harbor, a complex of townhomes, condos, restaurants, hotels, ice arena, casino, and a marina, all of which has been developed over the past 15 years or so on the site of AlCo’s former locomotive manufacturing operation.
Approximately 400 people turned out Tuesday evening to welcome the Seneca Chief to Schenectady, and tour the boat. It was really festive with a brass quartet and a vocal ensemble from Schenectady High School performing a fantastic harmony version of “Fifteen Miles”

Speaking is New York State Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara. In the red jacket, that’s Brian Stratton, former Mayor of Schenectady and current Director of the New York State Canal Corporation in the background.

Also speaking was Brian Trzeciak, Executive Director, Buffalo Maritime Center.

Many thanks to W Dan Hulchanski and Michael Bopp for providing photos and text for this post.
We are seeking correspondents for Hudson, Kingston, Conrwall-on-Hudson, Ossining, and of course the sixth boro of NYC.
