More from the CSNY photo collection, this is a June 12, 1913 image showing work in Brockport on the Canal that day.  Maybe someone out there more familiar with the canal and lift bridge layout in Brockport can take a photo of this scene from 2024.  My guess is that in this image the photographer is shooting toward the east.

Imagine the balance required of the workers wheeling rock along boards to shore.  I count at least eight men doing that work.

The tugboat under way is R. M. Mebard, [is that R. H. Hebard?and the tow on a long hawser can only make that turn because the barge captain has a rudder control as well.  Is that a load of lumber?  Two barges?

I can’t make out the name of the tugboat tied up on the opposite wall. I see at least one person there, and a Wabash boxcar beside a building.

Does anyone know the actual color scheme of tugboats like Mebard at that time?

Any help with this image?
