I”ve never visited this location, but I’m told by reliable friends that they still exist in some form in Hudson Falls NY.

What a bucolic scene is captured here, with two women walking toward the spillway,

a man standing beside a gate house,

a boy pushing a bicycle up a hill on a dirt road, and

bearded man possibly waiting for someone else climbing the hill . . . or maybe just distracted. Did any or all of them people in the image know they were being photographed?

Has anyone been to this location recently and can provide a photo?

Will, I’ve tried commenting to a couple of these posts lately on WordPress with no success, so an email…
Your bucket list must include some fascinating and worldly places and needs no suggestions from someone who rarely leaves NYS, but if you find yourself in the Ft Edward-Glens Falls vicinity I hope you get to walk the Sandy Hill Flight. Even better, bike the Glens Falls Feeder starting above where the feeder leaves the upper Hudson in Glens Falls and head east.
I helped Tom Grasso plan a CSNYS field trip there a few years ago and those of us who biked the towpath had an exceptional time. The Sandy Hill Flight still empties water into the old Champlain Canal and biking just a short distance south of the junction brings you into Ft Edward.
By then one might be thirsty and tempted to stop at another Grasso favorite, the Anvil Inn, where you can drink a toast to Tug 44, who lived down the street.

Thanks so much for these wonderful posts.

    1. Hi Dave- Your comment DID come through; I’ve just been too busy to moderate comments. I choose to require comments to be moderated to keep irrelevant [or worse] comments off the thread. Once I’m freed up, maybe next year, I’ll act on your suggested bucket list. Thank you for commenting.

Will, No need to respond, I only repeated myself because the Comment section befuddled me in the original post and said it wouldn’t send.
