Dispatches has previously posted an image of Matton shipwrights in 1915 here. As you might know, I publish another blog called tugster, which has occasional overlap in focus, like this tugster post about Matton and its boats.

James Turecamo is a 1969 product of the Matton yard, then owned by Bart Turecamo. Actually, after James, the shipyard, which opened in 1907, built only seven more tugboats.

Here’s another photo I took of James, this one upriver and much nearer the ship yard where she was built.

Something to watch for: James Turecamo, a name carried since her launch in 1969, has been renamed. She’s now NYS Marine Highway‘s Abbey K. and based in Troy NY. Look for her in NYS Marine Highway livery soon.

In closing, Dispatches and the Canal Society wish you a happy thanksgiving day. We thank you for continuing to support our efforts.
