Dunbar & Sullivan was a Great Lakes dredging company, said to date back to 1844. I’d love to learn more about the work they did back before the Civil War. They did some work in varying areas of the NYS Barge Canal.

I suspect this photo was taken along the Mohawk River portion of the canal somewhere because of the terrain and the railroad.

I’m hoping someone can identify the location and the unit.

It seems the spoils were being pumped right onto the riverbank.
