Many thanks to William Lafferty for this photo. He also writes, “Dynamic was a long time Conners Marine Company wood tug, built at Tottenville in 1927 by A. C. Brown for its own account probably, on spec, owned by George Brown of Tottenville, sold to Dynamic Corporation, New York, in 1930 and Conners in 1934.  In 1943 it received an Atlas-Imperial Diesel to replace what I believe was a 240-bhp Fairbanks, Morse outfit.  Owned by Conners and Conners-Standard until the end, it left documentation in 1967.”

Many more Conners boats can be seen here.

Many thanks, William.

One response to “More Dynamic Follow-up”

  1. Still more info on Dynamic provided by George Schneider: “I’ve been keeping her in my “ponder” puddle, and just found her identity.  The problem is that I was looking back too far.

A good fit is a wooden tug built at Tottenville NY in 1927.   I can’t confirm her builder, and Tim Colton has this peculiar list under A. C. Brown, the predominant builder there, in which he includes ones like her that he also can’t confirm.

She was wood, 63.3 ft in registered length, and had a 240 HP Diesel.  Her original owner was George C. Brown, and later Dynamic Corp, but in 1934 she was sold to Conners Marine Co. of New York City.  The company name morphed into Conners Standard Marine Corp (but I doubt if they changed that nameboard).  In 1968 she was reported “Out of Documentation” but very likely that was the results of not renewing her documents for a number of years, so her actual fate is still to be found.

    Smooth (foggy) Sailing, –George“
