When I launched this blog, I was hoping there would be more “then/now” posts. I suppose I could do more of them if I was around more. As it is, I’ve barely even spent time in NYS since April this year.
The photo below I took of a photo in the Old Erie Canal Heritage Park back in early October 2018. I don’t know if this image is still on display there. To the credit of the staff and volunteers, the Park has seen dynamic change, as perceived by someone who doesn’t get there often.

I’d love to know more about this photo. This lock 62 is in Monroe County. You can read more about it here in an article with photos showing how it looks now. More photos showing the ruins as photographed about 20 years ago here.
