Many thanks to Hugh Stroebel, who passed some more photos along and wrote: “An oil barge was going through Lock 14 at Palatine Bridge, NY in the 1960’s. I am sorry I don’t know the name of the tugboat or the numbers/name on the barge. When I took those photos, my mind wasn’t focused on those details as it would be now. I think Moran is an excellent guess, given the color.”

I’m thinking William J. Moran of 1938, not 1941. The 1938 tugboat by that name would have been called Anne Moran in the 1960s. From my other blog, here are some William J. Morans.
