Many thanks to Hugh Strobel of South Burlington VT for sending along these photos of Colleen Kehoe. Hugh says the photos he took in the 1960s at the lock in Comstock NY. According to this site, the boat didn’t carry the name Colleen Kehoe until 1980, but the cars

in the background don’t look like they’d be there in 1980.

Colleen hada stunningly artistic livery.

Today Colleen is creating a reef, 60+ feet down and a half dozen miles off Mantoloking NJ.

Hugh’s photos are amazingly sharp, and satisfying to look at. Note the two crew under the awning on the afterdeck.

This link gives more info about the tugboat, including all the names she operated under. Here she’s pushing Hygrade No. 28 toward Lake Champlain.

Many thanks, Hugh. Dispatches readers would love to see more of your photos, if you’re willing to share.
